Sound Healing
-
Sound has been around since the beginning of time. Many ancient civilisations believed the universe was created through sound. The reverberation of this can be seen in the healers, priests, priestesses, medicine women and men who continue to use sound in a sacred way for healing to this very day. Sound healing is becoming more of an integral part of mainstream society today. Sound healing uses different vibrations from a variety of instruments to heal the mind, body and spirit. Gongs, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, drums, rattles, rain sticks, tuning forks are just some of the instruments used in sound bathes and sound healing sessions. The vibrations from these instruments penetrate deep into the tissue and bones of the body. Helping to improve blood circulation, release muscular tension and balance the left and right hemisphere of the brain.

This is often done as a group session with people laying on the floor, on yoga mats. The sound practitioners will play a key instrument such as a gong, or crystal singing bowls accompanied by other secondary instruments. The attendees are bathed in waves of sound.
